During the autumn of 2025 I was building cardboard objects in an empty cottage in Batcombe, Somerset.
I was thinking about the sea and the things we float on it and drop into it. I was thinking about the cardboard boxes we move our stuff in, the houses we live in and the horizons we sail to.
My friend Kate Genever said “When you first said about these I laughed. They are still funny but now I see them I think they are sad or deeply pathetic. Either way the cottage and them together is great.”
